Investigators could be seen on Friday morning looking around a backyard and a fire pit at the home on Crouse Street.

Authorities tell News 5 the investigation could be linked to the case of a missing woman. On Sept. 5., police received a missing person report for a woman whose home is at the address on Crouse Street where police found suspected human remains.

The woman's daughter told police that she had not seen her mother in over a month, and neither had neighbors. Officers went to do a welfare check at her home, but nobody was inside.

AKRON,, OH (WOIO) – The Akron Police Department said possible human remains were found in a fire pit at home on Crouse Street.

There are missing person posters in the neighborhood of a woman named Robin Freitag, 54, who was last seen in late July.

Akron police confirm a missing person report has been filed for Freitag and they are still looking for her.
