Fight between two leads to fatal shooting of 2-year-old child
A 2-year-old girl was fatally shot when a man opened fire at an Augusta home Tuesday evening after an argument with the child’s mother, authorities said.

The toddler, identified as Jaziah Pollard by Richmond County chief deputy coroner Kenneth Boose, was wounded about 7:45 p.m., the Augusta Chronicle reported. She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

The shooting happened in the 2900 block of Meadowbrook Drive after an argument between the child’s mother and an unidentified man, according to the Chronicle. The man fired several shots into a home and a vehicle, and the girl was hit, Richmond County sheriff’s deputies told the newspaper.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – According to officials, a 2-year-old is dead after being shot on the 2900 block of Meadowbrook Drive.

Officials say that the childs mother and a man not related to the child were involved in a verbal altercation. Authorities also say the man discharged a firearm multiple times into the residence and a vehicle.
