Police in Vermont have shot and killed a person following a traffic stop.

State police say a trooper and a Richmond police officer shot the person Sunday afternoon after a traffic stop on Interstate 89 southbound in Bolton.
Authorities say the person was taken to a hospital, where he later died. No one else was injured.

AURORA | Police have released few details about a man shot dead by an Aurora police officer during a traffic stop near Smoky Hill Road and South Mobile Way late Saturday night.
Aurora police officer Diana Cooley says in a blog post the shooting happened after officers approached a man in his car late Saturday.
Cooley says police found a weapon in the man’s car. She did not identify the weapon but says at least one officer is on paid leave while the shooting is investigated.
