AURORA, Colo. (KKTV) – UPDATE (12:23 p.m.): Moments after Aurora police held a news conference Tuesday afternoon, they reported Daniela had been located.
Daniela Ruano-Morales of Aurora was last seen Monday morning and is believed to have left her home on her own sometime before 10 a.m. Her family searched for several hours and finally contacted the Aurora Police Department around 4 p.m. after failing to find her.
“As far as we know, this is the first time she has walked away,” said Officer Crystal McCoy, a spokesperson for APD.
“I dont know that I would call it a fight, but she did tell her family that she was leaving,” McCoy said.
The spokeswoman explained Tuesday morning in a briefing with reporters that because police do not believe Daniela was abducted, the disappearance does not meet the criteria for an Amber Alert issuance. Police do believe she may be scared and hiding.
Daniela is described as 4-foot-10 and about 65 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray tank top and sweatpants with flowers on them. She doesnt have any physical or mental disabilities according to police. Daniela was last seen in the 1900 block of Elmira Street in Aurora.
