About 12:01 p.m., officials responded to I-88 Westbound in the area of milepost 117 about 30 feet off the roadway, Illinois State police said. There, they found Gregory Prill, 33, in a ditch near the Aurora Toll Plaza. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to the police, troopers were dispatched to the scene around noon Monday and found the body in a ditch about 30 feet from the westbound lanes of I-88 at milepost 117, near the Aurora Toll Plaza.

The four-door Chevrolet Cobalt, which had an Illinois license plate of “BE82675,” was last seen heading east on 95th from Vernon Avenue.

State police crime scene investigators were called to the scene, and the body was later taken away by the Kane County Coroners Office, police said.

The driver, who works for the First Student bus company, was driving the empty bus near 67th Street and Stony Island Avenue when it was hit.
