Police responded to the Heather Ridge Apartments in the 2300 block of S. Vaughn Way. All entrances have been closed at the apartment complex while police negotiate with the suspected gunman.
All bus routes were stopped in the area and residents asked to shelter in place until further notice.

AURORA, Mo. (KYTV) — The Aurora-Marionville Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 300 block of W. Locust, in Aurora.
The victim, a 30 year old Aurora resident, was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A nearby school was placed on a temporary lock down until officers concluded there was no threat to the community.
The suspect is being held in the Aurora jail pending formal charges. Officers are investigating a possible motive.
