Florida murder suspect arrested in Buffalo – Buffalo News

U.S. marshals in Buffalo confirmed Thursday that they have a man in custody who is wanted by Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office in Florida.

Andrew Moldonado was being sought in connection with a mans body found burned beyond recognition in the trunk of a car in the City of South Bay, Fla., according to a news release from the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office.

Maldonado, 25, was arrested Thursday afternoon in Buffalo and is being held at the Erie County Holding Center, pending extradition to Florida, authorities said. He was charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and first-degree arson.

Law enforcement in Western New York had been seeking the publics help in locating the 5 feet, 3 inch tall, 140-pound Maldonado, who was believed to have been somewhere in the Buffalo area.

Maldonado is one of three men who have been charged in the death of James M. Payne, 25, of Orlando. Paynes body was found after firefighters doused a vehicle fire on May 4 on Old U.S. Highway 27, the Sheriffs Office said.

Neville Bethune was arrested May 8 and charged with first-degree murder and first-degree arson, while Donovan Baker was also arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree arson, deputies said.
