CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The Cape Coral Police Department and the Lee County Sheriff's Office are looking for a missing woman in Cape Coral.

There were several cruisers staged in front of the woods on Santa Barbara Boulevard near Hector Cafferata Elementary School and the Moose Lodge, and a helicopter was searching in the air.

Cape Coral police sent an alert about the missing woman on Monday. Diane Ruiz, 43, is 5'5" with brown hair and brown eyes, according to CCPD. Ruiz has a tattoo of a dragon and rose on her back.

She was last seen walking from her boyfriend's house in the 200 block of NW 3rd Terrace around 9:15 a.m. Police found her purse at Hector Cafferata Elementary School, but there was no other trace of her.

Ruiz is a bartender at the Moose Lodge and didn't show up for work there on Monday. The manager of the Moose Lodge said police came by asking for camera footage on Tuesday morning.
