Authorities locate missing Tennessee 20-month-old; capture man that disappeared with her during traffic stop
Matias Martinez, 37, reportedly took off on foot with the child following a traffic stop on Boy Scout Road, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. 

Hamilton County Sheriffs Deputies made a traffic stop on a vehicle near Dayton Pike and Boy Scout Road in Chattanooga. A woman, her infant granddaugther and another man, later identified as Martinez, were in the vehicle, the HCSO reported. 

The incident began when deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office asked Martinez to stand with the infant in the shade near the roadway while a female was detained for questioning. Martinez then left the scene with Shaw as the female was being questioned, according to the sheriff's department.

While questioning her, deputies asked the man to stand nearby in the shade with the infant, due to the heat, the HCSO report. 

Martinez has a valid Massachusettss drivers license, brown eyes and is approximately 5 feet and 10 inches tall. He has black hair and weighs 185 pounds.

AMBER ALERT: Man wanted for kidnapping toddler from East Tennessee

The TBI added him to their Most Wanted list Thursday evening, with a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to his arrest. 

Shaw was last seen wearing a light blue dress with black sweat pants. She weighs approximately 30 pounds and is 2 feet tall.

When captured, Martinez was found to be in possession of a bicycle. Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokesman Matt Lea says that anyone missing a bicycle in the area of Boy Scout Road is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office and file a report.

Anyone with any information regarding Martinez, the child or their whereabouts should immediately contact their local law enforcement agency.

According to Hamilton County Chief Deputy of Law Enforcement Mark King, a concerned citizen called 911 after spotting Octavia Shaw and Matias Martinez at the intersection of Boy Scout Road and Moses Road early Friday morning.

The relationship between the child and the suspect has not been identified. It was not immediately clear when the two went missing.
