Woman held hostage in Fayetteville home, suspect in custody
Fayetteville, N.C. — A 34-year-old man was in custody Sunday after holding a woman hostage at a Fayetteville home, according to police.

Around 7:30 a.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a home along the 100 block of Open View Drive near Dunn Road and Samuel Street. Police said Daniel James Jacobs was barricaded and holding a woman inside.

Jacobs was taken into custody and was taken to the Cumberland County Jail where he was being held without bond.

He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, assault on a female and second-degree kidnapping.
