GM Chairman-CEO announces $24M investment in Fort Wayne plant
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — General Motors is investing into its Fort Wayne truck assembly plant.

GM’s chairman and CEO made the trip down from headquarters in Detroit to announce the investment to enhance the factories conveyors and other tooling to support increased production of the all-new Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500–especially 4 door crew cab models.

While this might seem like not a big benefit to the local economy there are two things to keep in mind about the investment.

It boosts the value of the plant, theoretically driving up the property taxes GM must pay to Allen County.
