No injuries after explosion at Fort Wayne biotechnology company
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Employees of one Fort Wayne business came to work Wednesday to discover an overnight explosion next door.

The reports came in around 6:40 Wednesday morning. The explosion happened in the 10600 block of Majic Port Lane. This is at the SPNC Corp. Biodyne location.

Fire officials tell us the explosion happened sometime in the middle of the night when a large water tank inside the building ruptured. This took out the center portion of the roof and the garage door, pushing debris to the next-door business.

The damage was not discovered until Brown Equipment Company employees came to work Wednesday, discovering debris.

No fire happened in the explosion and there were no injuries. The Southwest Allen County Fire Protection District is investigating the explosion.

The university is hosting the commemoration at their military resource fair at the science mall. During the resource fair, people can visit with campus and community individuals and resource sites supporting active-duty members and veterans.

The event takes place from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Science Mall on Purdue Fort Wayne’s campus. That is located between the Liberal Arts Building and Neff Hall.
