Bicyclist identified in fatal Fremont collision
Kiranjot Deol, of Fremont, was riding a bike around 5:10 a.m. when he was struck by a man driving on Boyce Road near Auto Mall Parkway and Stewart Avenue, according to city police and the Alameda County coroner’s office.

The crash, which was Fremont’s fifth fatal traffic collision this year, is under investigation.

FREMONT — A bicyclist killed Wednesday morning in a collision with a vehicle was identified by the coroner’s office Thursday as 28-year-old Kiranjot Deol.

Deol, a software engineer at Facebook and Fremont resident, died after he was struck by a vehicle about 5:10 a.m. while he was riding north on Boyce Road between Auto Mall Parkway and Stewart Avenue.

The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old Ceres man, is cooperating with police who are still investigating the collision.

Spokesman Anthony Harrison said in a statement “We were incredibly saddened to hear of Kiranjot’s passing.  We are offering our support to his family at this difficult time.”
