Driver kills bicyclist in unfortunate accident, Fremont police say
The fatal collision happened at about 5:10 a.m. in the northbound direction of Boyce Road between Auto Mall Parkway and Stewart Avenue, police said. Authorities did not identify him immediately, but police said they believe he was 28 years old.

Officers are investigating whether drugs or alcohol are a factor in the crash. The driver of the unspecified vehicle was a 25-year-old man from Ceres, and spokeswoman Geneva Bosques said they detained him for questioning.

Police closed all lanes of northbound Boyce Road to investigate. They opened one lane just after 12:25 p.m.

FREMONT, Calif. (KTVU) – The driver of a car fatally struck a male bicyclist in Fremont Wednesday morning in what police are calling an "unfortunate accident."
