Garland teenager shot, killed during fight
Garland police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old during a fight Tuesday night.

Devonte Duncan was found wounded around 8:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Highwood Drive, police said. He was taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, where he died of his injuries.

After some investigation, detectives said they believed Duncan and another teenager, later identified as Sabir Arebo Adem, got into some sort of altercation. It was during that fight when Duncan was shot.

Police believe 17-year-old Devonte Duncan was shot during a fight with 18-year-old Sabir Adem Tuesday evening.

GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) – Garland police have located and arrested a teenager who they say is responsible for the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy on May 21.

Officers found Duncan suffering from a gunshot wound on Highwood Drive near Miller Road on the city’s east side. He died at a hospital.
