Grand Rapids police were called to the scene around 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13. Police have shut down South Division Avenue at Buckley Street while investigating.
GRPD investigating suspicious deaths after two bodies found in home
She would not disclose the conditions of the bodies or where they were found in the home until police can further investigate.
A neighbor said that a woman around 60 owns the home. Several adults and children also live there, the neighbor said.
The homeowner was walking near the scene. Others, some in tears, approached police and talked to investigators.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Investigators with the Grand Rapids Police Department were investigating a scene Wednesday afternoon after the bodies of two unidentified individuals were found inside a residence near the 500 block of Sheldon Ave. NE just after 1 p.m.
Officers responded to an unknown medical call and found the two deceased subjects, who are not identified at this time, inside the residence. The Kent County Medical Examiner's Office and GRPD's forensic department reported to the scene alongside detectives and later deemed the two deaths were being investigated as suspicious.
A statement with GRPD said the 500 block of Sheldon Ave SE between Pleasant Street SE and Buckley Street SE will have a heavy police presence for the foreseeable future and commuters are encouraged to find an alternate route.
Nobody is in custody at this time. Anyone with information on this incident are asked to call the Grand Rapids Police Department of Silent Observer.
