2-car crash in Ottawa county leads to death
STANDALE, MI — A 35-year-old Grand Rapid man died in a two-vehicle collision on Lake Michigan Drive near Standale early Saturday, Sept. 14.

Rogelio Mireles died in the crash about 7:10 a.m. on Lake Michigan Drive between Wilson Avenue and Eighth Avenue.

Ottawa County Sheriffs deputies said he was driving east when his 2004 Nissan Sentra suddenly veered across the center line and into oncoming traffic.

She was injured and taken to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital. She was last known to be in serious condition.

Dispatch confirms with us that just after 7 a.m. at Lake Michigan Drive NW near Thomas street, two cars crashed. 35-year-old Rogelio Mireles was driving east on Lake Michigan Drive when he suddenly veered over the center lane into oncoming traffic.

Michelle Weaver, 22, was driving west on Lake Michigan drive when she was struck by Rogelio’s car.

It is unknown at this time if speed or alcohol played a factor in the crash. This incident remains under investigation.

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say two people are facing charges in connection to a Holland Township hit-and-run crash that killed a mother of two.

Melissa Yates, 41, of Zeeland died at a hospital after the incident, which happened shortly after midnight Tuesday in the parking lot of 136th One Stop located on 136th Avenue between James and Riley streets.
