NORTH CAROLINA — Tropical Storm Michael moved out of the Triad on Thursday evening, not before creating widespread flooding throughout the region.
In Wilkesboro, officials and the fire department attempted to secure the area around a sinkhole, which grew larger as rain and flood water continue to poor in. The main concern was for those driving getting too close to hole, trying to snag a look and falling in.
Im watching a massive sinkhole getting even bigger surrounding a Taco Bell in Wilkes County! Rain and flooding from #Michael is causing the sides to cave in. Stay away from the area. @SpecNewsTriad pic.twitter.com/kzFwmcIVWe
