Rozier — I might have to go if Celts stay intact
Thats according to ESPNs Stephen A. Smith, who spoke to someone close to Irvings family who made the stunning revelation.

With the Boston Celtics being eliminated from the playoffs, their focus immediately shifts to this offseason where Irvings free agency is looming over their future.

But it has also been reported the Lakers are being considered as a possible destination for the six-time All-Star.

“I got a text message from folks close to Kyries family within the hour as we were teasing the subject.

Celtics Reportedly Think Kyrie Will Stay If They Trade for Anthony Davis

“I think that would make them final four in the Western Conference, meaning theyd at very least get to the Conference semi-finals.

Hall of Famer and longtime NBA executive Jerry West has agreed to return to the Clippers next season to continue in his advisory role with the teams front office, The Times has learned.

“His people in his inner circle are trying to bring the Nets into the mix, but clearly New York is the destination.

“The likelihood is that it will be MSG and I am told James Dolan himself has basically whatever the hell you want.

“I dont know whether thats true or not, neither Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving are talking about these things but Im talking about what the belief is: They are destined to go to MSG.”

The New York Knicks struck out on the draft lottery Tuesday evening, but there still lies plenty of hope in free agency, where the Knicks are expected to be major players for several top-target free agents.

And today we have Colin Cowherd advancing the gossip to a new place. On his show, Cowherd said a veteran NBA player slid into his DMs and said Durant-to-the-Knicks is 100 percent done and the superstar is making calls to other players (4-minute mark).

The most notable of these targets are Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, whose connection with the Knicks have been spread for months now. But for the pair of stars, do their hearts lie in the Knicks, or does it lie in New York?

Guessing Cowherd’s source would make for a fun parlor game but maybe the most instructive thing about this nugget is how bad a secret this apparently is within the NBA community. If true, of course.

According to a quote by the New York Times’ Marc Stein, they might be just as inclined to sign with the Nets as they will for the Knicks.

Your Morning Dump… Where we digest rumors and lottery odds

While its possible that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving play together in 2019, the New York Knicks are reportedly not the only option. Marc Stein of the New York Times said Tuesday that the Brooklyn Nets are also in play for the All-Star duo. [Durant and Irving] might be a package deal, but theyre going to look at the Nets just as hard as the Knicks, Stein said on the Stephen A Smith Show.

Speculating about the future of the NBA is more interesting than the current NBA to many NBA fans. It’s tough for me to understand this approach to life, but hey, here we are.

The Nets have come a long way since the failed Paul Pierce, Kevin Garrnet experiment. Through a series of moves, they have built a solid roster around D’Angelo Russell and made the playoff last season as a 6th seed.

With enough cap-space, the Nets can make a very compelling case to their respective free agents. We should not count them out of the race for the top stars, including Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
