NBA Rumors: Kyrie choosing between Lakers and Nets?
Some Boston Celtics fans may be happy to hear that Kyrie Irving is breaking the promise that he made before the start of the season. It appears that the point guard will not be returning to the C’s.

“The latest that I’ve heard is that it’s between Brooklyn and the Lakers,” Bucher said… Now, everything that I’ve heard, I’d still expect that Kyrie is going to Brooklyn — that’s the odds-on favorite. … And if we’re going to continue our real estate (game), he just bought a place in South Orange (New Jersey).”

Well, the Kyrie Irving trade was definitely a failure. The Celtics will probably be better without Irving. This is one of the first trades in a while that has backfired on Danny Ainge.

However, Bleacher Reports Ric Bucher seems to think that Irvings free agent options have been narrowed down to just two. In a recent appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Bucher shared the latest rumors that he heard about Irvings free agency. And the two teams involved in the sweepstakes didnt include the Celtics.

Irving’s time in Boston will be looked at with extreme scrutiny. It looked like he was going to be the face of the franchise for years to come. He is now just giving up on the team.

This was Irving’s chance to prove that he could win on his own. He finally got out of the shadow of LeBron James.

Kyrie proved that he can’t win on his own. Wherever he goes he will need someone else to be the No.1 guy if he wants to win a championship.

Irving was in attendance for a fight between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr. at The Garden. DAZN, the network streaming the fight, tweeted out a picture of Kyrie to confirm his appearance.

Isaiah Thomas Showing Major Signs Hes Interested in Joining Miami Heat

The worst-case scenario for Boston Celtics fans would be if Irving decided to go to the Lakers. All of Boston would hate him.

This is somewhat reminiscent of the picture of John Wall that the Washington Wizards tweeted last July. The tweet was mocked so much that the Wizards ultimately had to take it down.

NBA Rumors: Kyrie Irvings Free Agency Decision Down To These Two Teams

First off he would be going to the Celtics fiercest rival. No matter what the Lakers and Celtics will hate one another. This would instantly heat up the rivalry to an all-time high.

Ive known him a long time, Colin, and, honestly, hes become tough to like. He has. Obviously, he’s an elite level talent. But we saw it in the playoffs. He kinda got swallowed up because he’s not the most athletic dude in the world. And this group was far more entertaining to watch a year ago in the playoffs with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Terry Rozier. Im not sure how many people in Boston, including Danny Ainge, would be that unhappy if Kyrie Irving leaves.”

Then Irving would also be going back to his best buddy LeBron. He will return to him beaten and prove that James was the reason that Cleveland was able to win.

“Id be surprised if he stays in Boston. You see his body language. You hear enough smoke, you know there’s something going on here. Obviously, Kyries kinda moody, hes got a tight inner circle. So, Im not sure how much validity some of (the rumors have), but again, I dont expect him to be in Boston. You could see it in the locker room and with his teammates, that they almost dont know how to take to Kyrie Irving.

The twists and turns of the Kyrie Irving saga simply will not stop until he signs his free-agent deal. The Boston Celtics star point guard is set to hit the open market and will have a handful of teams targeting him. And at the moment, there are a number of possibilities that he seems to be considering.

The latest that Ive heard is that its between Brooklyn and the Lakers. And Ive heard that the Lakers and Kobe Bryant – now Kobe told me, or indicated to me, that he was not involved. That he was, Hey, thats their deal. Im not part of it. But I was told in the last 24 hours, Kobe has been busy recruiting Kyrie, in particular, to try to get him to the Lakers.

Id be surprised if he stays in Boston, Goodman said. You see his body language. You hear enough smoke, you know somethings going on here. Obviously, Kyries kinda moody, hes got a tight inner circle. So, Im not sure how much validity some of (the rumors have), but again, I dont expect him to be in Boston. You could see it in the locker room and with his teammates, that they almost dont know how to take to Kyrie Irving. Ive known him a long time and, honestly, hes become tough to like. … Im not sure how many people in Boston — including Danny Ainge — would be that unhappy if Kyrie Irving leaves.

Now, everything that Ive heard, I would still expect that Kyrie is going to Brooklyn – thats the odds-on favorite. And if were going to continue (to break down) real estate, he just bought a place in South Orange (New Jersey).

These destinations surely make sense for Kyrie, but they are still just rumors. Keep in mind that the New York Knicks are trying to lure both Irving and Durant to New York City as well. They may even move the No. 3 pick in the draft to help create room to sign both, so they could be an option.

During a recent appearance on Colin Cowherds podcast, NBA insider Jeff Goodman pretty much implied the Celtics President of Basketball Operations wouldn’t be unhappy if Irving leaves the franchise.

Kyrie played into that a bit and caused a little stir when he was at Madison Square Garden last night for the Anthony Joshua vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. fight. However, he was just there for entertainment purposes.

And, of course, the Celtics are likely going to do what they can to bring back Irving though its looking less and less likely in recent weeks that they will be able to do that. In fact, Jeff Goodman recently said that he would be “surprised” if Kyrie went back to the Celtics.

Well have an answer to all of this soon, as NBA free agency is set to kick off at 6 p.m. on June 30. Until then, expect to hear a lot more buzz about potential landing spots for Kyrie.
