Making his usual appearance on ESPNs First Take, longtime NBA insider and sports analyst Stephen A. Smith provides yet another update on Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving as the 2019 free agency period slowly approaches.

Adding to recent speculation that the explosive scorer is leaning towards signing with the Brooklyn Nets, Smith reports that Irving has given every indication to the Brooklyn Nets that that is where he wants to go this offseason.

Well, over the last 24 hours, I have learned that Kyrie Irving has given every indication to the Brooklyn Nets that that is where he wants to go. Not the New York Knicks.

When Smith last spoke on Irving, he reported that the impending free agent had a 95 percent chance of signing with the New York Knicks with Kevin Durant and no chance of signing with the Los Angeles Lakers. However, other reports would list the Lakers as a potential destination for Irving, with the six-time All-Star doing his homework on the decorated franchise.

That said, Smith is also reporting that Durant isnt interested on signing with the Nets and would rather sign with the Knicks alone or convince Irving to join him in New York. According to Smith, should the Golden State Warriors defeat the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 NBA Finals, Durant will leave. Otherwise, the two-time Finals MVP will remain with Golden State.

There are enough different scenarios and reports to make every rumor questionable. Nonetheless, Irvings decision-making process seems clear and logical.

If the reports are true, at the moment, hes leaning towards signing with the Nets but the Knicks and Lakers, to a lesser extent, remain in play for him. Rather than waiting for Durants free agency to dictate his own, Irving is taking his playing future into his own hands and giving Durant the chance to join him in Brooklyn.

Durants potential unwillingness to sign with the Nets wont slow their pursuit of Irving and Brooklyn will reportedly have no problem pairing Irving with Russell. Having had plenty of success with guard Spencer Dinwiddie getting heavy minutes, theres no doubt that Russell and Irving can co-exist together.

In fact, the biggest question that exists with Irving joining Brooklyn is what becomes of Dinwiddie, one of the best sixth men in the league.

Frankly, if Irving leaves, Dinwiddie is the type of player that Boston should target in a trade. Especially if they dont want to bring Terry Rozier back.

Kyrie Irving was eliminated from the playoffs in the second round and his future with the Boston Celtics appears to be up in the air. Regardless of Irvings playoff success, Nike is still looking to release new colorways of the Nike Kyrie 5, as well as new silhouettes such as the Nike Kyrie Low 2, which just came out today.

The first colorway of the shoe is black and white which is about as basic as it guests as far as colorways go. Perhaps Nike did this intentionally considering Irving doesnt really have an allegiance to any teams right now. If youre a real sleuth though, you might say the black and white colorway is a hint that hes going to the Brooklyn Nets, although that would truly be a huge stretch. The upper of the shoe is completely black, while a white speckled midsole and white Nike swoosh make up the rest of the sneaker, giving it an Oreo aesthetic.
