Man shot dead in Jersey City ID\d as 23-year-old Bayonne resident
DEVELOPING JERSEY CITY NJ: Shooting Leaves Man Critical in Jersey City
The man who was fatally shot in Jersey City Tuesday evening has been identified as a 23-year-old Bayonne resident. 

Eric Crocker suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his torso after gunfire erupted in the area of Lembeck and Ocean avenues just before 6 p.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. 

Crocker was treated at the scene and then transported by EMS to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 6:30 p.m., Suarez said. 

The cause and manner of Crockers death are pending an investigation by the Regional Medical Examiners Office. The Prosecutors Homicide Unit is actively investigating the shooting with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department. No arrests have been made at this time, Suarez added. 

The Hudson County Prosecutors Office asks that anyone with information on the shooting to call 201-915-1345 or to submit an anonymous tip online at HCPO.org.

EMS rushed a man to Jersey City Medical Center suffering severe injuries after a gunman fired bullets from a car striking him this evening in Jersey City.

Police were called to the vicinity of Lembeck and Ocean avenues after receiving reports of shots fired just before 6 p.m.

Units arrived at the scene and found an unconscious and unresponsive man -around the age of 25-years-old -suffering gunshot wounds.
