Man dies in Jersey City house fire, official confirms

One person is dead after a fire broke out inside a residential building in Jersey City on Friday afternoon, authorities confirmed. 

The man, whose identity has not yet been released, died after being pulled from 23 Bostwick Ave. in the Greenville section of the city. The building appears to be a two-story, multi-family home.

Freelance photographer Joe Shine said emergency medical technicians did CPR on the man outside the home just after 12:40 p.m. 

Hudson County authorities are on the scene investigating a fire that caused fatal injuries to one person this afternoon in Jersey City.

According to preliminary reports, police were called to the 20s block of Bostwick Avenue after receiving reports of a fire inside a two-story wood framed house shortly before 12:30 p.m.

Units arrived at the scene and found fire coming from the basement of the house according to reports.
