Prilutsky to lead Jersey City Medical Center

The hospital announced yesterday that Michael Prilutsky will assume the position of president and CEO, while its former head Joseph Scott begins his full-time role as executive vice president of the RWJBarnabas systems

Prilutsky, who joined JCMC in 2016 as chief operating officer, previously served as vice president and executive project director at Montefiore Health System in New York. He also held leadership positions at Northwell Health and Beth Israel Hospital.

“I am proud of the opportunity to lead an exceptional team at Jersey City Medical Center and look forward to continuing to build on its solid foundation,” Prilutsky said in a statement. “As a critical part of the RWJBH system, Jersey City Medical Center will undergo tremendous growth in the next five years — with significant enhancements to clinical services and the transformation of the hospital campus — to provide the highest quality of health care to the most diverse community in the nation.”

Meanwhile, Scott will lead population health, strategic initiatives and business development efforts for the RWJBarnabas system. For the last year, he served as executive vice president of healthcare transformation for RWJBarnabas, while also holding his post atop JCMC.

Prilutsky, joined Jersey City Medical Center in 2016 as chief operating officer.  He succeeds Joseph Scott, who was named executive vice president, Office of Healthcare Transformation for the RWJBarnabas Health system.

“For the past two years, Michael and I have been working side by side leading the operations and the incredible team at Jersey City Medical Center,” Scott said in a statement. “We expect a seamless transition, as Michael has been managing the day-to-day operations for some time.”

In his new role Scott will oversee Population Health, Strategic Initiatives and Business Development efforts for RWJBH.

Jersey City Medical Center has a new CEO and president, as Joseph F. Scott takes on the full-time role of executive vice president, Office of Healthcare Transformation, for parent RWJBarnabas Health.

Scott has held both roles for the past year, and will now serve as leader of population health, strategic initiatives and business development for the health system. JCMCs chief operating officer, Michael Prilutsky, has assumed the CEO and president roles, effective Monday.

Prilutsky, who joined JCMC in 2016, has held leadership positions with Montefiore Health System in New York City, Northwell Health and Beth Israel Hospital in New York City.
