JERSEY CITY — The death of the 60-year-old man is considered suspicious after the man was found with apparent head injuries, according to law enforcement.

The Hudson County prosecutor's office says Jersey City police were called to a building shortly after 1:30 p.m. Saturday and found 60-year-old Gregory Harvey unresponsive.

The man, who has been identified as Gregory Harvey, 60, was pronounced dead just after 2 p.m. on Saturday after being found at 112 Wilkinson Ave. between Ocean Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive.

The Hudson County Prosecutors Office has deemed the incident suspicious and is investigating it as a homicide, a spokesman said, but the cause and manner of death are still pending a report by the Regional Medical Examiners Office.

Harvey, born and raised in Jersey City, is survived by six siblings, three children and five grandchildren, according to his younger sister, Tina Harvey.

Harvey was pronounced dead just after 2 p.m. Saturday. The regional medical examiner's office will determine the cause and manner of death.

“He was a loving brother and a loving father to his kids and grandchildren,” she said. “He had a large family.”
