Prosecutor: 3 charged with murder in connection to fatal July shooting in Jersey City
Three people have been charged with the murder of a 21-year-old Jersey City man who was shot blocks from where his father was gunned down in 2013, authorities announced Wednesday.

At about 11:10 a.m. on Monday, Tyshawn Kitchens, 19, of Irvington, was arrested at the Prosecutors Office and charged with the July 23 murder of Markell Albright, as well as conspiracy to commit murder and a firearm offense. He was incarcerated at the Hudson County jail in Kearny on unrelated charges at the time, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

At about 2:45 p.m. that day, members of the Prosecutors Office Homicide Unit arrested Corey Walker, 22, of Westwood, in the area of New Heckman Drive in Jersey City. He was arrested without incident and charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder, Suarez said.

A few hours later Monday, homicide detectives arrested Rashad Terry, 30, of Jersey City, at the Hudson County jail, where he too was being held on unrelated charges. He is also charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder, Suarez said.

The state has moved to detain the three men through the course of their prosecution and their detention hearings are scheduled for Friday before Hudson County Superior Court Judge Paul DePascale in the Hudson County Administration Building in Jersey City.

Albright suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including at least one in the chest, in the 8:20 p.m. shooting on Wilkinson Avenue on July 23.

Albrights father was William Ghost Albright Jr., who was gunned down in his wheelchair on July 13, 2013, on Ocean Avenue near Wegman Parkway. He had been confined to a wheelchair since 2002, when he was shot outside a city bar.
