Man, woman dead in Montgomery County apartment complex shooting
TWO DEAD IN SOUTH MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHOOTING —
At about 10:45 pm Friday Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported shooting in the 25600 blocks of I-45 in Spring. The reportee reported hearing several shots and seeing someone lying on the ground in the courtyard of the Dakota Canyon Apartment complex and not moving. Units arrived on the scene and found a black male and a white female deceased. An attempt to locate was put out on a black male wearing a hoodie, shorts and missing a shoe. He was seen running from the scene but they are not sure he was involved. Detectives say it could possibly be a murder-suicide but and an autopsy will determine that. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack who was accompanied by Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Elect Dunn responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the two victims to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for an autopsy. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and Texas Rangers are also assisting in the investigation.

Montgomery County Sheriffs Office Lt. Scott Spencer said someone called 911 at 10:49 p.m. and reported hearing three gun shots and seeing two people on the ground at the Dakota Canyon apartment complex in the 25600 block of Interstate 45 North.

When deputies arrived, Spencer said, they found two people who appeared to have been shot in the head. One victim was a woman in her mid-20s and the other was a man of about the same age, he said.

Someone at the complex told detectives that man dressed in a hoodie and shorts ran away after the shooting, but investigators were not yet able to determine whether that person may have been involved, Spencer said.
