Semi flips on I-90 after being struck by passing driver; DUI suspected
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash – A hit and run crash in the early morning hours blocked Interstate 90 and the road is still blocked, hours later.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a pickup driver caused the crash, then took off. The driver was later caught and arrested for DUI and felony hit and run.

The crash happened before 2:00 Saturday morning; the road was still blocked at 7:30 am. I-90 is blocked at Pines; a detour is in place.

A driver attempting a shoulder pass struck a semi on Interstate-90 early Saturday morning, causing the semi to flip onto its side, blocking all eastbound lanes of traffic. The driver of the passing vehicle fled the scene on foot, but was quickly apprehended.

Spokane Sheriffs Deputies arrested the man, Isaiah J. Antoine, 26, on suspicion of DUI, according to Washington State Patrol. Speed was also a factor in the crash, according to WSP.

Antoine, driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, attempted to pass a semitruck on the right shoulder of the highway. He hit the semitruck, and both vehicles hit the center barrier. The semi flipped and blocked I-90 Eastbound for about seven hours until crews could clear the wreck.

Antoine was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, and was later booked into Spokane County Jail. A passenger in Antoines car was injured but released at the scene.
