Man Charged in Shooting Death of a 27-Year-Old Woman
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A 37-year-old man has been arrested in Plant City on Thursday in the shooting death of Christina Rush.

St. Petersburg Police say Rush died early Thursday morning after an altercation and shooting in the 1000 block of 15th Ave S.

Marco Nicholas Murray, 37, who has no fixed address in Plant City, was charged with second degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm in connection with the shooting death of Christina Veronica Rush, 27. Murray was taken into custody Thursday in Plant City.

Neighbors who heard the altercation and gunshot called police that morning. The 27-year-old woman was found in the backyard with a gunshot wound.

​ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a woman who was shot in the backyard of a home in St. Pete.

Ms. Rush died early Thursday at a hospital where she was taken after she was discovered in the back yard of a home in the 1000 block of 15th Avenue S shortly before 1 a.m.

Marco Nicholas Murray, 37, was arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm for the shooting death of Christina Veronica Rush.

Detectives say Rush, 27, was struck by at least one bullet in the backyard of a home in the 1000 block of 15th Avenue South.

When officers got to the scene, they performed CPR on Rush. She was taken to the hospital, where she died.
