Michelle Obama: George W. Bush is \my partner in crime\ and \I love him to death\
Michelle Obama Reveals What George W. Bush Gave Her At John McCains Funeral
Former first lady Michelle Obama has revealed what former President George W. Bush gave her at Sen. John McCains funeral last month: a very old cough drop from his own days in the White House.

I didnt realize at the time that anybody noticed what we were doing, Obama told the Today show on Thursday, during an appearance to discuss International Day of the Girl.

I want to serve. I want to do work. I wanna to be out there, she continued. But theres so many ways to make an impact. Politics is just not my thing, its as simple as that. And thats what I want these girls— Find your passion. Dont let somebody tell you what they think you should be. Its up to you to determine [whats] your message and how you want to use your voice.

I didnt realize at the time that anybody noticed what we were doing… He is my partner in crime at every major thing where all the formers gather… I love him to death. @MichelleObama talks about George W. The moment did in fact gain a lot of notice in the press and on social media, although critics pointed out in the subsequent days and weeks that just because a guy gives someone a lozenge doesnt mean he cant do destructive, divisive things as well.

Share Scott Baumgartner‍ Oct 11th 2018 2:58PM In 2018, few public figures are as beloved as Michelle Obama. Her strength, wit and confidence have inspired generations. But, would she ever consider running for public office like her husband, former president Barack Obama?

Obama said Thursday that Bushs simple gesture during the September service came about because the pair are forever seatmates because of protocol.

Would you ever run for elected office? @savannahguthrie asks @MichelleObamapic.twitter.com/AUASXkrP0E

Thats how we sit at all the official functions, so he is my partner in crime at every major thing where all the formers gather, she said.

Thats the funny thing, because they were in the little White House box, and I was like, How long have you had these? Obama said. And he said, A long time, we got a lot of these.
